Spring Loaded

Wind it up, and let it rip. It's as easy as it sounds.

An important key to generating big drives is to get your body properly coiled at the top of the backswing. Like loading a spring or stretching a rubber band, coil provides power and "snap" as you unload into impact. If you observe Tiger, you'll understand what this coil looks like. To behin to feel added coil, make a few practice swings where you allow your hips and shoulders to turn the same amount into the backswing. Although your turn will be large, you will likely not feel any resistance between your upper and lower halves. Now, wind your shoulders up, this time while resisting with your legs and hips. Here the hips should turn just a fraction of the amount as the shoulder creating positice tension. In general, the bigger you can wind your shoulders, while still resisiting with your hips, the longer your drives will be!
