Question:

I have successfully converted my swing from a two to one swing plane with one exception...

On the follow through my club shaft is not on plane. It is way too steep. Every time I attempt to change the angle to match the plane of the rest of my swing I release the club head very fast and hit a huge hook. I know you are very busy and I will be thrilled by a response.

Thank You,

-Tom

Answer:

The reason you are hooking when you try to “round out” your follow through is because the handle of your club is stopping and and you are creating too much “roll” with your release which is making the club face move out of time with the arc.

With your finish position, your right arm should be working across your chest as your left elbow drives back and behind the seam that runs down the left side of your shirt. If the left elbow is free to fold and drive backwards through the hit, the handle will continue its circular momentum, thus slowing the rotation of the club face.

Take a look at this Youtube video to see the follow through arm sequence that will help add speed while better controlling your club face.

I hope this helps!
